Matthew 5:14-16
14"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Jesus is speaking to His disciples and tells them to be the light of the world!  It cannot be hidden.  The word hidden means to be kept in obscurity or obstructed.  We are to be instruments of light, truth and revelation.  Most often we become the culprits of obstructing the Kingdom of God from manifesting in this world by allowing ourselves to become diluted with the prevailing opinions of the age.

We are to allow the light of God to shine on us.  This means that we are to remain in the light.  The longer we remain in the light the more the light of God has a chance to transform us.  A transformed christian is a powerful position to have.  As we remain in the light we will begin to reflect His light to the world.

 Make a choice to remain in Christ and you won't be a flash in the pan!  You won't be a one season christian, a one hit wonder, a has- been, last year's fashion.  I think you get the point. 

Jesus said in John 8:12

12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
