There are many leadership teachings and principles in the Christian world that have helped many ministries and people likewise.  But one of the things that have bothered me is the concept that leaders need learn how to serve.  This seems true.

As I pondered this, It came to me that we think that serving is a technique or skill that we have to learn to advance in the kingdom and with people and organizations.  But this is really the opposite.  We have it all wrong!!!

In reality, the Lord is looking for Servants that will stand up and lead!  Servants that will always do what is right no matter what the world propagates.  People that live a surrendered life!  You see, if we are not careful we will buy into the lie that serving is a technique or principle.  Serving is an Essence, a Characteristic or quality found only in genuine surrendered followers of Christ.  

As a servant, then lead the way so that others may follow!
