This morning my Wife Dianna wrote a devotional email to the ministry team and I felt I should share it with you.  Here it goes:

Just a thought...
One question that many of us struggle with, at least from time to time, is the big question..."What is the will of God for me right now?". In a quest for the answer we usually pray and study the Word and even seek others opinions. Sometimes, we keep searching to find an answer more to our liking or hoping that the Lord will change His mind. Other times, we even think, "Lord, surely, you are concerned about my comfort and happiness...right??" In searching for the answer, we may get caught up looking for something BIG or for some kind of FEELING.

This morning, I read a verse from I Thessalonians where the answer to this question was so CLEAR! (Isn't CLEAR wonderful?!) It says, "Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is GOD'S WILL FOR YOU in Christ Jesus." (1 Thess. 5:18) WOW...right there, plain as day is our answer. His will is always for us to GIVE THANKS! So, no matter what our circumstance...give thanks! Even through hurt and disappointment...give thanks! In blessing and peace...give thanks! In a hard day...give thanks! And through all our questioning...give thanks!

Our Father knew that we would have moments just like-where you are right now--whether it be trying times, hurts, disappointments, times of fear, blessings, and questioning. And He also knows that in all the moments of our lives, if we will just GIVE THANKS...suddenly (or slowly) our heart will soften, our gaze turns toward Him and somehow we find our answer in HIM. Giving thanks opens the heart of God....and you know...it opens our heart too!
